After planning with Captain Terry the type of special sailing vacation you want he is now ready to make it happen.

When you visit the web site SailWithTerry.com you will see the spacious interior, galley and great seating area on deck.  There is a large dingy to transport you directly to the various islands, restaurants, and snorkeling spots. The dingy runs on your schedule and to your destinations.

Do not be overwhelmed in planning your ultimate sailing vacation.  A visit to the site or a personal phone call to Captain Terry can answer all of your questions and concerns.  Assistance and suggestions with travel arrangements to Tortola, BVI, perhaps a few nights stay in a resort or quaint hotel at the end of your sailing charter.

As you view the web site you will notice four different pricing options.  The  most popular and budget oriented plan for your seven day sailing charter is the “Captain Only ” plan. You will be chartering a 51’ sailboat with a captain.   If you wish to learn  to sail or to enhance your sailing skills or just become comfortable sailing on open water versus lakes this plan is for you. It removes the stress and worry that you have when chartering a bareboat.   The captain knows the right anchorage and sailing options to go to in the event of swells from the north that can occur in the winter months when the sailing is at the optimum. A knowledgeable captain can guide you to the lesser known snorkeling spots, secluded beaches and of course the captain always knows where the best parties and restaurants are located.

Captain Terry  is experienced, very upbeat and patient.   He will personally guide you through the best snorkel spots and caves while pointing out exotic fish and coral.  A captain that you can trust…Captain Terry on Mañana Maybe.

Vacation dates for the 2010-2011 season are booking up fast.  Reserve your Caribbean sailing vacation now and when the cold winds blow and ice is everywhere,  you will be working on a tan in the BVI.

Marina Cay: The Perfect Stop on Your Sailing Vacation

If you’re planning on a sailing vacation in the British Virgin Islands, one of the best islands to visit is Marina Cay, an 8-acre island paradise that was once home to novelist Robb White and his wife Rodie.

The island of Marina Cay is an ideal family spot. Because of its shallow, calm waters, small children can play in safety while exploring the soft, white, sandy beaches and frolicking in the water, playing Marco Polo or looking for seashells.

If you have older children, you could learn how to snorkel together while experiencing the beauty of the coral reef and the colorful fish that inhabit it and the surrounding areas.

As for Mom and Dad, you can lounge on the beach while the children play, basking in the sun’s warm rays and reading one of Robb White’s books about the island. What better time to learn about the island’s history then while you’re visiting it on your sailing vacation?

Another way for your family to experience the beauty of the island is by kayak, which the local dive shop can provide. Then, after your kayaking adventure, you can stop in for a bite to eat at Pusser’s Porch Grille, which offers everything from burgers and steak, to chicken, pork and seafood. No matter what you choose, make sure to leave some room for one of their many scrumptious desserts. You don’t want to pass up key lime pie or cheesecake. Sounds delicious!

Finally, before you depart the island to continue on with your sailing vacation, make sure to stop in at Pusser’s Company Store to pick up some souvenirs to remember your trip. You might even pick up a few T-shirts for your loved ones back home who are sure to be envious when you tell them what a great time you had.
