Sailing Vacation | Perfect Family Vacation

April 22, 2011

End of school year, time to think of a special reward for all of the hard work and to spend some quality family time.

The last few weeks of school are running full speed.  So much to do; exams, papers due, sporting events, social times, planning for the next year of school or college.  During these stressful times families often become very disconnected with everyone going in a different direction.  Well the way to be connected is to disconnect from stressful schedules.

A sailing vacation in the Virgin Islands is the ideal get away for a family.  Imagine your own sailboat, sailing to a different island each day, snorkeling amazing reefs and seeing hundreds of beautiful tropical fish and exploring islands that were inhabited by pirates and Indians centuries ago.

Disconnect from the phones, computers, Ipads and listen to the sound of the waves as you glide through the crystal clear aqua water of the Caribbean.  Evenings are spent under a canopy of stars and consolations so close you feel as if you can reach up and grab that falling star.

Each morning you arise to the sound of pelicans diving bombing for their breakfast as you sit on the deck of the boat enjoying your breakfast and making plans for the day’s adventure.  Shall it be a rendezvous with a dive boat and dive the wreck of the Rhone?  Sail to the coral made island of Anegada for a grilled lobster dinner on the beach?  Anchor at Diamond Cay and take a hike to “Bubbly” and then enjoy a cookout on your floating hotel?

A sailing vacation is the ideal way to disconnect and reconnect with your family.  There is something for everyone to enjoy.   Sailing is a team effort and Captain Terry will guide you through the steps to sail the boat, learn proper anchoring, and to maneuver through tight channels.  You can go to the  deserted beaches for a picnic or rent a board and try your hand at the latest sport; board paddling or for an adrenalin rush; try your hand learning to “come about” on the sail boat and then enjoying excitement as the rail touches the water.

A sailing vacation on a charter boat in the Virgin Islands will not only reconnect your family, you will be creating life long memories.

Captain Terry has been sailing these waters for numerous years and will help you plan the best vacation ever.  Check out sailwithterry. Com, then email sailwithterry@gmail.com or phone 941 266 0296  to request a personalized sailing vacation.

Sailing Holiday-A Great Family Vacation

Sailing Holidays -A Great Family Vacation Idea
Sometimes it’s tough to leave the comfort of a habit or routine. For example many of us just like to take the traditional family vacation. So, rather than being daring and adventurous,  we prefer to stick with hotels, beaches, disney parks, museums, monuments, etc. Sometimes its good to break the mold and look for something new and exciting. Maybe its time to plan a special Caribbean vacation by taking a economical and private sailing trip.
Sailing holidays are a great way to explore the islands and seas around us while having quality family bonding time. There is no shortage of places to sail if you wish to plan a sailing holiday vacation. You can contact SailWithTerry and get personalized planning advise about all aspects of your sailing vacation.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sailaway from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

Join the trend of many families that are taking a sailing holiday.  Last season we had families from Califorina, Canada, Norway, Russia, Wisconsin, Georgia, Maine, and Denver taking a sailing vacation. Imagine you are with your family all together on a family sailing vacation. The excitement of the entire family being together on a private sailing yacht island hopping learning to sail and snorkel/dive together makes for a very special times and memories. You can celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and a family sail-away vacation.

Hi Terry,

“Crew” Nelson had a fantastic week together as a family with Captain Terry and his wife Ingrid.  With everyone working now, it is hard to coordinate a whole week together with everyone’s schedule.  So we all thoroughly enjoyed spending 7 days exploring islands, snorkeling every day, learning to sail, and just relaxing with our family.  Everyone claimed it was the best vacation of their lives, and while there were many highlights during the week, I think all would agree the whole week was a fantastic adventure.  And we have over 1200 pictures to prove it!

Thanks,
Mary

Sailing Vacation in the British Virgin Island

Take a Sailing Vacation in the British Virgin Island

Charter Your Private Yacht with an Experienced  Captain.

Planning the perfect sailing vacation in the BVI is a simple task when you go to the web site of Captain Terry.

Captain Terry is a professional captain who owns his own sailing vessel, a shinny 51’ Beneteau , Mañana Maybe has with four staterooms, each with a private head and vanity.  Captain Terry is the owner and operator, he makes sure that the boat is spotless, well maintained and ready for your arrival. After planning with Captain Terry the type of special sailing vacation you want he is now ready to make it happen.

When you visit the web site SailWithTerry.com you will see the spacious interior, galley and great seating area on deck.  There is a large dingy to transport you directly to the various islands, restaurants, and snorkeling spots. The dingy runs on your schedule and to your destinations.

Do not be overwhelmed in planning your ultimate sailing vacation.  A visit to the site or a personal phone call to Captain Terry can answer all of your questions and concerns.  Assistance and suggestions with travel arrangements to Tortola, BVI, perhaps a few nights stay in a resort or quaint hotel at the end of your sailing charter.

As you view the web site you will notice four different pricing options.  The  most popular and budget oriented plan for your seven day sailing charter is the “Captain Only ” plan. You will be chartering a 51’ sailboat with a captain.   If you wish to learn  to sail or to enhance your sailing skills or just become comfortable sailing on open water versus lakes this plan is for you. It removes the stress and worry that you have when chartering a bareboat.   The captain knows the right anchorage and sailing options to go to in the event of swells from the north that can occur in the winter months when the sailing is at the optimum. A knowledgeable captain can guide you to the lesser known snorkeling spots, secluded beaches and of course the captain always knows where the best parties and restaurants are located.

Captain Terry  is experienced, very upbeat and patient.   He will personally guide you through the best snorkel spots and caves while pointing out exotic fish and coral.  A captain that you can trust…Captain Terry on Mañana Maybe.

Vacation dates for the 2010-2011 season are booking up fast.  Reserve your Caribbean sailing vacation now and when the cold winds blow and ice is everywhere,  you will be working on a tan in the BVI.

The Ideal Family Sailing Vacation

What does the ideal family sailing vacation mean to you? Close your eyes and think about it. Does it involve white, sandy beaches, lots of sunshine and time spent with your family? If so, then you may want to consider traveling to one of the most popular locations in the world: the British Virgin Islands (BVI).

To start your BVI family vacation off with a special flare, charter a yacht instead of taking a cruise. By chartering a yacht, you’ll have a more intimate setting that allows for uninterrupted interaction with your family ñ quality time that may be hard to experience elsewhere.

Here is a list of fun things for you and your family to do while on your vacation:

You could take a family hike, or bike ride along one of the many trails on the islands. While you walk or ride, you’ll be surrounded by the natural beauty that each island possesses, which will leave you feeling refreshed and happy and ready for more adventure.

If your children are teenagers, then all of you could try your hands at windsurfing. It would be a great deal of fun for everyone.

You could go snorkeling off the coast of Salt Island where the wreck of the Royal Mail Ship Rhone is located.

Or you could explore the giant boulders, also known as the Baths, at Virgin Gorda. The boulders are surrounded by wooden walkways and ropes for added safety, while still allowing you to explore your surroundings and search out sea life caught in tidal pools.

No matter where your family sailing vacation takes you, you’ll be sure to have considerable amounts of fun while learning new and interesting facts about many of the British Virgin Islands’ must-see sites. Give it a try and see if you don’t agree!

Try Adventure Sailing for a Fun-Filled Family Vacation

Adventure sailing is just what it sounds like–it’s an adventure that you’ll have while sailing the ocean. And if sailing isn’t enough of an adventure for you by itself, when you sail with Captain Terry and his crew, you’ll be able to enjoy full amenities such as gourmet meals and a variety of water and island activities. Adventure sailing kicks your pleasure up a notch by including such activities as swimming, kayaking, scuba diving, hiking and snorkeling.

Adventure sailing is a great way to spend a family vacation. You may want to include several generations. Even though older adults may not want to take part in the most adventurous activities, there are still lots of things that can be enjoyed by everyone–young and old.

While those who crave the highest adventure may be interested in deep sea diving or parasailing, the youngest and oldest family members may prefer fly-fishing, building sand castles on the beach or swimming. Whatever you think an adventure is, adventure sailing will ensure you find it.

An adventure sailing vacation provides more for the whole family than many other vacation options because it provides what’s really important … time together. Rather than a resort or theme park that provides different activities for different ages, sending everyone in different directions, an adventure sailing vacation brings the family together with lots of onboard activity. Your family can spend time basking in the sun, laughing together, even anchoring and trimming the sails while enjoying old-fashioned quality time with one another.

When you choose adventure sailing for your vacation, there’s no doubt it will be a trip you’ll remember for a lifetime. Enjoy the ocean, find all the adventure you can possibly imagine, and spend time with those you love. What could be better than that?
